Impacting students, one community at a time
The Ole School Alumni Scholarship Group (OSASG) partners with JMU in a variety of ways to build additional avenues of minority recruitment, retention and community engagement.
We have OSAG members throughout the state of Virginia and surrounding areas who work with local schools in helping to provide information about JMU and serve as recruitment liaisons to the university.

PARTNERSHIP WITH JMU'S AFRICAN, AFRICAN AMERICAN, AND DIASPORA (AAAD) PROGRAM

As a pillar of OSASG's primary mission, OSASG developed a partnership with AAAD in order to sponsor students to take part in the Ghana study abroad program.
In 2024, OSASG was able to sponsor 3 students to study abroad in Ghana, as well as send 4 OSASG members to join the experience for the first time. The joint experience enabled OSASG and AAAD to forge a stronger partnership within the JMU and University of Ghana communities.
